The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Sir Suma Chakrabarti made his official visit to Armenia on 11 May, during his tour of the South Caucasus countries.
During the one-day visit Sir Suma had meetings with RA President, Serzh Sargsyan, the Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and the Chairman of Central Bank Artur Javadyan.
Sir Suma Chakrabarti’s visit to Armenia coincided with the opening of the EBRD’s new Resident Office in Yerevan which the Bank marked with the ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a press-conference.
The EBRD has been active in Armenia since 1993 and to date has invested over €889.2 million into 136 projects. In 2014, the EBRD signed 18 projects worth a total of €114 million in Armenia.
